Anyone else a major Glossier gal?
If you’ve been following us for a while, you know that I pretty much buy anything that Glossier releases. (Guilty!) It wasn’t until a little while ago that I had to force myself to stop buying literally everything so that way I could talk about more than just Glossier on the blog!
Glossier has A LOT of products, and though I haven’t tried them all (yet), I’ve tried quite a few. I’ll break down product-by-product in alphabetical order and let you know straight up if they’re worth it or not, in my opinion!
Let’s get into it!
Glossier Balm Dot Com
- Price: $12 or 3 for $30
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, long-lasting moisture, paraben free, cruelty free
If you’re looking for a versatile balm for all of your parched skin’s needs, look no further! We actually dedicated a whole blog post to this gem of a product in the past. This simple product is an absolute must-have for your lips and extra dry places like your elbows or cuticles!
Pros
- Comes in a variety of flavors and tints.
- You can buy a pack of 3 for $30.
- Super hydrating and nourishing.
Cons
- Application isn’t very smooth so you kinda have to use your fingers.
We’ve tried all of the flavors and tints of this product! Personally, you can’t go wrong with the basic unscented, untinted balm, but if you want to make it fun our favorites are either the coconut or the mint! If you want a tint, go with the cherry!
Worth it? Worth it.
Glossier Body Hero Daily Oil Wash
- Price: $18
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, gynecologist tested, soap free, paraben free, cruelty free, vegan
This is the first oil-based body wash I’ve ever tried. Hard to believe since I’m such an adamant non-foaming face cleanser kinda gal. While I LOVED the oil cleanse itself, I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing the Body Hero Daily Oil Wash. Here’s why:
Pros
- The oil-to-froth cleanse is great! The oil pulls up excess dirt and oil and the froth makes your skin feel super clean.
- The packaging is great! I love a stand-up pump bottle for in the shower.
Cons
- Scent is UGH. Smells like an old lady.
- It’s pricey! It’s $2.14/oz while my normal body wash is $0.38/oz.
- The ingredients aren’t all that clean (ex. Fragrance, sulfates, etc.)
I’ve decided it’s time to step up by body oil cleansing game, but unfortunately Glossier won’t be returning to my shower.
Worth it? NOT worth it.
Glossier Body Hero Daily Perfecting Cream
- Price: $22
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, paraben free, cruelty free
I’m SUPER picky about my body moisturizers. My skin is super dry and I’m constantly warding off eczema (I had a few pretty bad patches on my legs and arms as a kid). All that said, I have super dry skin so what works for me might not work for you and vice versa.
Pros
- Super creamy and easy to apply.
- No residue or stickiness.
- Absorbs quickly.
Cons
- Not enough moisture for me. I have to reapply 2-3x per day to keep my itchy skin at bay.
- Packaging is eh. I prefer a pump with my lotion!
- Scent smells like a grandma! Just like the oil wash.
I think I’ll stick to my completely natural, organic ingredients for my body skincare. My all time favorite is the Cocokind Skin Butter! As far as this Glossier Body Hero Daily Perfecting Cream…
Worth it? NOT worth it.
Glossier Boy Brow
- Price: $16
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: alcohol free, fragrance free, paraben free, cruelty free, appropriate for all skin types, hypoallergenic, ophthalmologist tested, dermatologist tested
This is another Glossier product that was worthy of a full review on our site a while back. If you have naturally thick and sometimes unruly eyebrows, this is the brow product for you! If you have brows that need to be filled, this is not for you (you may want to try Claudia’s fav NUDESTIX brow product if you need more of a fill!).
Pros
- Effortless application!
- Just the right amount of pigmentation.
- Holds your brows in place without looking fake.
Cons
- I run out of it fairly quickly (probably every 1.5 months)
I LOVE this product. So much so that I haven’t used a different brow product in a couple of years now. That’s insane for me!
Worth it? Worth it.
Glossier Cloud Paint
Once you go liquid blush, you never go back. That’s the saying, right?! Either way, that’s the way Claudia and I feel after using this cult-favorite blush. We honestly can’t ever stray away from this stuff!
Pros
- Pigmentation is on point!
- A little goes a LONG way. This stuff lasts forever.
- It lasts the whole day.
Cons
- There’s a bit of a learning curve the first few times you use it, just remember a TEENY amount does everything you need!
We love this blush! Freakin’ love it. And when I say it lasts forever, I mean FOREVER. Both Claudia and I have been using the same tubes for over a year now and they’re not even close to empty.
Worth it? Worth it.
Glossier Generation G
- Price: $18
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: cruelty free, vegan, paraben free, hypoallergenic, allergy tested, dermatologist tested
TBH, I was never much of a lip product gal (and I’m still really not). I hate thick lipsticks and having to maintain my color throughout the day or night. That said, I love Glossier Generation G because it’s like the lipstick amateur’s perfect lipstick.
Pros
- Blotted-lipstick look without having to blot.
- Feels like your natural lips when applied, no stickiness or residue.
- Easily buildable to get the perfect amount of pigmentation.
Cons
- Not super long-lasting.
I was already a fan of Generation G a while back, but when they came out with a reformulation in November 2018, I loved Generation G even more! It has a super smooth, silky application and now it has a faint, luxurious scent to it. Plus the packaging significantly improved! With their reformulation, they ended up taking away most of the cons I used to have.
Worth it? Worth it.
Glossier Haloscope
- Price: $22
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, paraben free, fragrance free, cruelty free
I’m not a makeup-whiz…that’s for sure. Highlighting and contouring? I put a highlight on my cheekbones and nose so that means I’m doing it, right? My favorite thing about highlighting sticks is that they make it pretty easy for a makeup novice to kinda get the complex job done, ya know? Same goes for this Glossier Haloscope.
Pros
- Glides on easily.
- Sheer shimmer works on almost any skin tone.
- Little goes a long way.
Cons
- It can dry out after not using it for a while.
- Teeny bit pricey for my liking.
While I love the idea of a highlighter stick, and the Glossier Haloscope has done its job fairly well, I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this one. Honestly, my favorite highlighter stick is the Cocokind Mai Light Rose Highlighter. It has a creamier, smoother application, cleaner ingredients, and is only $13. As far as Glossier Haloscope…
Worth it? NOT worth it.
Glossier Lash Slick
- Price: $16
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: cruelty free, paraben free, fragrance free, hypoallergenic, allergy tested, dermatologist tested, ophthalmologist tested, suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, non-irritating
Mascara can be such a toughie! From flaking to smudging, there are so many things that can go wrong when testing a new mascara. I tried the Glossier Lash Slick almost as soon as it was released and I’ve bought a few more refills since. For more details, here’s my full review, if not here are the basics:
Pros
- Gives a natural, but enhanced look to your lashes.
- Doesn’t flake or smudge.
- Removes easily with water or oil.
Cons
- Go through it way too quickly!
- For special events, I’ve found I needed a thicker mascara (my go-to thick one is from Thrive Causemetics)
For daily wear, the Glossier Lash Slick is easily my all time favorite mascara, but when it comes to needed to step it up in the makeup department for a special occasion, it just doesn’t cut it for me. My favorite thing about Lash Slick is it almost looks like you aren’t wearing mascara, it makes your lashes look so real, but WAY longer than they naturally are. It’s kind of amazing!
Worth it? Worth it.
Glossier Lidstar
I bought this product thinking it would be really good for a makeup novice, like myself. With a lip-gloss-esque application, I figured it would be an effortless way to achieve a glittery lid! Honestly, it didn’t end up exactly how I dreamed it would be.
Pros
- Buildable pigmentation.
Cons
- Hard to apply! The applicator spreads it around in a weird way, and if you follow Glossier’s directions and use your fingers to blend, your fingers end up picking up all the product?!
- Creases into my lids.
- Doesn’t last all day.
Honestly, there’s not much great to say about this product. Maybe I’m just using it wrong? Or maybe my lids are too oily? Powder-based eye shadows seem to be much more effective for me!
Worth it? Not worth it.
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser
- Price: Full Size: $18, Mini: $9
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, safe for the eye area, ophthalmologist tested, appropriate for all skin types, soap free, paraben free, sulfate free, cruelty free, non-comedogenic, vegan
If you’re looking for a gentle, yet effective face wash, look no further! Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser has been my go-to face wash for a looooong time now. You’ll see why:
Pros
- It’s non-foaming, which means it’s not irritating!
- When applied to dry skin, it easily removes most of your makeup.
- ¼ of the water content is replaced with rose water.
Cons
- …
Honestly, I can’t think of one thing I don’t love about this face wash! It’s gentle, yet effective and I never get tired of it. It’s the face wash I always fall back on and I’m sure I will ALWAYS have some in my bathroom!
Worth it? Worth it.
Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint
- Price: $26
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, appropriate for all skin types, non-settling, non-irritating, paraben free, fragrance free, cruelty free, vegan
Glossier’s philosophy is all about skincare first, makeup second, which i can totally get behind. Only problem is that sometimes my skin doesn’t agree… Claudia and I both tried the Glossier Skin Tint a while back and here’s what we think:
Pros
- It’s very blendable!
- 12 shade options help to get the perfect match. (I used G9 in the winter and G6 in the summer)
- Very lightweight.
- Doesn’t clog your pores.
Cons
- No SPF in it.
- Gives almost zero coverage.
- Doesn’t last through the day.
If you’re looking for a makeup/skin care product that just enhances your natural skin, but doesn’t take away from your skin, Glossier Skin Tint is for you. Otherwise…
Worth it? NOT worth it.
Glossier Priming Moisturizer
- Price: $22
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, appropriate for all skin types, long-lasting moisture, paraben free, fragrance free, cruelty free, non-comedogenic
I first used this moisturizer way back in the early days of Uncover the Glow and I’m now wondering why I haven’t kept this in my bathroom?! This is the perfect daily moisturizer for just about anyone…not too heavy, not too light, but totally effective.
Pros
- Lightweight, but buildable.
- Unscented!
- Non-irritating.
- Great for under makeup.
Cons
- Not extremely hydrating.
- Kinda tacky feeling after application.
This is a great summertime moisturizer for me! I may need to add it back into my routine. It’s just a easy, dependable moisturizer without a lot of fuss. I actually tried the Priming Moisturizer Rich too about a year or so ago and loved it! It was great for winter time.
Worth it? Worth it.
Glossier Stretch Concealer
- Price: $18
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist tested, non-comedogenic, paraben free, fragrance free, cruelty free
This is one of the only concealers I’ve ever used. Honestly, I really hate using concealer as it typically is just cakey and doesn’t do a great job anyway. The Glossier Stretch Concealer has been my go-to for a while because…
Pros
- It does stretch and contour to your skin pretty well!
- It’s buildable.
- It’s not cakey.
- 12 shades make for finding the perfect match! (I use G9)
- Lasts a long time!
Cons
- The potted packaging isn’t very sanitary.
- When I use it under my eyes, it sinks into my creases over time.
- It’s not long-lasting.
I’m honeslty not sure why I keep coming back to the Glossier Stretch Concealer…I guess because I’ve never expected a lot out of concealers and this one seems to kinda do the job?
Worth it? Maybe?
Glossier Wowder
- Price: $22 or $35 with the brush
- Where to buy: Glossier
- Perks: hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, talc free, paraben free, fragrance free, vegan, cruelty free
Ever feel like sometimes that sought-after dew look can be just a tad too dewy? That’s why I bought the Glossier Wowder. I had used mineral finishing powders in the past and found them to be effective, but sometimes too effective, you know? Like looking a little too porcelain doll-ish. The Glossier Wowder seems to be my perfect match.
Pros
- Just the right amount of mattifying power.
- Diamond powder gives a natural shine vibe.
- If you buy it with the brush, the combo works great together!
Cons
- Since there’s a mesh screen inside, if you travel with it and open it up, there can be a lot of excess powder inside.
Really there aren’t many cons to this makeup setting powder – it works great! For those extra dewy/oily days, this powder is my best friend. P.S. I have it in light/medium!
Worth it? Worth it.
Glossier You
- Price: $60 for the perfume or $22 for the perfume solid
- Where to buy: Glossier
I can’t really pin why I love the scent of this so much, but I do! Seems like a lot of people do too since it’s an award-winning perfume! I love the scent of this so much, but didn’t want to spend the full $60 so I opted for the perfume solid instead and I LOVE it.
Pros
- Smells AMAZING. It gets better as it sits on your skin, too! (Hence: You)
- Scent is not too overwhelming.
- The solid is easy to travel with.
Cons
- Packaging seems a little wasteful with the solid, it would be great if they had replacement tins for the pretty compact that it goes in!
I’m really not a huge perfume fan. I don’t even wear them everyday, but I love the Glossier You Perfume Solid! I’ve never had a solid perfume before and I love how I can rub a little bit by my wrists and behind my ears and it lasts me all day! I feel like the scent lasts longer than just a normal perfume this way?!
Worth it? Worth it.
Glossier Gal 4EVER
(Omg if AIM was still a thing, this would totally be my screenname.)
Well friends, I obviously have a Glossier obsession. Honestly? It’s understandable I think! You can tell from my reviews above, most of the time you’re going to get a great product at a great price with Glossier! There’s a reason why they’re a cult-favorite!
