Refers to products that are free of toxins and harmful ingredients like sulfates, phthalates, parabens, perfumes, dyes etc. However, they can still contain synthetic, lab-made ingredients that are safe for the skin.⁠

Refers to products that are made only with ingredients found in nature like seed oils, fruit extracts, botanicals, etc. However, this doesn’t guarantee that your skin will react well to them.⁠

Everyone always says to drink more water, but it can be hard to actually drink as much as we really need.😩⁠

For Christmas, I got a 40 oz. @hydroflask as a gift and I promised myself I would drink two of them in a day! They say you should drink half of your body weight in ounces of water per day, but I figured a little more won’t hurt! ⁠

I didn’t have any major goals or expectations, but I was thrilled with the results. ⁠
⁠
Here’s what happened:⁠

🙂 Less hunger! I normally like to snack a lot, but when I drink more water, my hunger levels even out.⁠
⁠
🙂 More sustained energy! I have less and less of those mid-day slumps and more ongoing energy⁠
⁠
🙂 Clear and hydrated skin! My skin (entire body and face) feels more supple and less irritated. Plus, no breakouts!⁠

🙂 Lost weight! Now I definitely wasn’t trying to lose weight, but I definitely notice areas of my body are more toned - and I always take some toning!⁠

Easier said than done right? So much of our appearance and health is directly related to our mental health. And so much of our mental health is related to the amount of stress we endure daily.⁠

So how do we decrease stress?! I’m no expert but here are some things that have worked for me:⁠

🙏🏼 Starting every morning with quiet time! The first thing I do when I wake up is make my coffee and get cozy on the couch for my @shereadstruth time. I find that this sets me up for success the rest of the day!⁠
⁠
📱Put the phone away! Or take your smart watch off. While I love my Apple Watch, being connected at all times is super overwhelming. It’s like a constant buzz of stress at your wrist. The past couple weekends, I’ve been experimenting with not wearing it and I love it! I forget where my phone is and don’t even think about it.⁠
⁠
🧘🏼‍♀️ Workout! It doesn’t have to be anything crazy but even 20-30 mins of a @yogaglo pilates or vinyasa class and I feel so much better!⁠
⁠
💧 Drink water! More to come on this on Friday, but not only does this decrease stress and tension in the body, but it has a plethora of other benefits!⁠

We never realized how much dirt, grime and makeup are left behind when we only use water-based cleansers.😱 Oil cleansing is great at drawing out excess sebum, built-up SPF, and makeup while water-based cleansing is better at getting rid of good ole’ sweat and dirt. So you really do need both!⁠

Over the holidays, I ran out of my favorite exfoliating serums, so I figured why not experiment with NO exfoliation for a month?⁠

Well, the results say it all…⁠

👍🏼 Zero breakouts (not even on my period)⁠
👍🏼 Extremely smooth skin where my hormonal acne acts up⁠
👍🏼 Less oily but more glowy complexion⁠
⁠
The only downside I’ve noticed so far is that my nose and chin are feeling a little rough since that’s where I get the most blackheads.⁠

I ended up buying the @versed Shortcut Overnight Facial Peel and plan on using that once a week. I’m also thinking of getting the pore vacuum that @thehealthyhollows suggested in last week’s How She Glows! Hopefully these two can help with my blackhead situation. 🙏🏻⁠

Other than that, I think I’m completely sold on the less is more approach when it comes to my skin. ✨⁠
