If you’re like us and don’t wash your hair everyday, you’re probably wondering what are the best dry shampoos.
We’re here to help! We’ve tried A LOT of dry shampoos. We’ve tried cheap, affordable, fancy, expensive, super clean, and more, but we’ve landed on just a few that are our absolute favorites. Just beware, not all of these are the cleanest options out there, but we’ll be sure to let you know which ones are super safe and which may have questionable ingredients.
Let’s fix that greasy hair!
Acure Dry Shampoo
- Price: $12
- Shop: Amazon
- Perks: No aerosol, vegan, paraben free, sulfate free, mineral oil free, petrolatum free, silicone free, cruelty free, USDA organic
What we love about it:
- We feel good using this! Super clean ingredients.
- Really absorbs all the oil and grease.
- Smells yummy!
- Easy to travel with.
- Gives a little bit of volume!
- Doesn’t give you that sticky feel that a lot of aerosol dry shampoos leave you with.
What we don’t love:
- Since it’s not a spray, it takes some extra work to distribute it throughout your hair.
- Can leave white residue if you accidentally use too much.
- The texture. It can feel very powdery in and gritty in your hair depending on how much you use.
Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo
- Price: $25
- Shop: Amazon | Sephora
- Perks: Certified vegan and formulated without MIT/MCI, artificial colors, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, parabens, phthalates, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarban, aluminum, talc, and have less than one percent synthetic fragrances.
What we love about it:
- Pretty darn clean ingredients for being an aerosol dry shampoo!
- Gives a boost of volume!
- Leaves ZERO white residue. Honestly it doesn’t even spray on white…it’s basically clear.
- Doesn’t leave your hair feeling gritty.
- Makes your hair feel almost back to normal!
What we don’t love about it:
- It’s still an aerosol so there are the unhealthy side effects of that.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo
- Price: $25
- Shop: Sephora
- Perks: Free of sulfates SLS and SLES, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban. This product is also vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free, and comes in recyclable packaging.
What we love about it:
- Easy to apply. The perks of a spray dry shampoo!
- Absorbs oil, grease and sweat really well!
- Blends in easily.
- Leaves your hair feeling refreshed!
What we don’t love about it:
- The scent is super strong. It’s designed to release scent throughout the day so it’s a little too much! We’d prefer no scent.
- Does spray on white so you have to blend it in.
- It’s still an aerosol so there are the unhealthy side effects of that.
