As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I started researching the best baby care essentials out there.
I mean how could I not?! As a clean beauty blogger it only makes sense. In my research I’ve learned that a lot of companies take advantage of parents by saying things are made for babies, but in reality, the ingredients can be just as toxic as some adult products on the market. That said, I’ve found LOTS of companies that make great quality, non-toxic products for babies that I’m already falling in love with.
As I write this, Ryder is 3 months old and I’m just starting to figure out the products we love more than others. That said, I plan to keep this post updated as he grows and more needs arise for more products.
Here are some of our favorite baby care essentials, in no particular order!
Tubby Todd All Over Ointment
This stuff is a MUST-HAVE for all babies, I swear. It’s like magic on just about anything. Baby acne? Solved that. Drool rash? Yep. Eczema? That too. I love this stuff so much I’ve even used it on myself for those extra dry areas that need nourishment.

Oogiebear
This tool is AMAZING. Going to get gross here (welcome to motherhood), but I use it for boogers and ear wax and it works like a freakin’ charm. I have the FridaBaby Snot Sucker too but in my opinion, that is probably best for a snotty nose…not boogers that need to be picked! He hasn’t had a snotty nose yet so I’ll keep you posted there.
California Baby Ezcema Shampoo & Body Wash
I started using this when I noticed Ryder had a little bit of ezcema starting on his scalp. A couple uses of this in combo with the Tubby Todd AOO and it was clearing right up! I also use this to help with his drool rash on his cheeks. The oatmeal and calendula are miracle workers for any irritated skin…in babies or adults!
Earth Mama Organic Diaper Balm
I love this diaper balm for preventing any irritation and keeping his little bum happy! I like to put it on at night before a long stretch of sleep to ensure he stays content all night long. Note: this isn’t a diaper cream or paste…it’s truly a balm that melts into the skin.
Green Sprouts Baby Brush & Comb Set
My little nugget has a head FULL of hair so having a good brush is important for us. We love this set from Green Sprouts! It’s so, so soft and helps to dry his hair after a bath. We love it!
That’s it – my current baby care essentials!
The list isn’t long because honestly there’s a lot of stuff out there that just isn’t necessary. That said, these staples are thing we couldn’t get by without lately. I’ll be sure to keep this post updated as we move through new phases with Ryder and find new products that we need or love.
